M1 Abrams — the main battle tank of the United States. Serially produced since 1980. It is in service with the army and marine corps of the United States, Egypt, Australia and Morocco, as well as a number of Middle Eastern states. Named after General Creighton Abrams. The tank is made according to the classical layout with a control compartment in front of the vehicle, a fighting compartment in the middle and a motor-transmission in the stern. The crew consists of a commander, gunner, loader and driver.
